I assisted with Communications Design for LGBTQ-RAN that strongly incorporated my graphic design background and also my audio and video editing capabilities. My work included projects for their GALA in October 2024 and the annual end of year report for 2024.

The LGBTQ Religious Archives Network (LGBTQ-RAN) is an innovative venture in preserving history and encouraging scholarly study of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer religious movements around the world. LGBTQ-RAN can best be understood as a “virtual” archive.

With a need for concise and clear design that was also engaging to the eye, I was tasked with creating an annual report that reflected the theme of “Archiving is Activism” without losing the viewer in the nitty gritty details. My decision to move forward with bold minimalism – a small color palette, sans serif typefaces, circular icons for pattern and gradient texture – and only keeping the rainbow symbolism on the covers was welcomed well.

Feel free to scroll and view the full report! The report is also posted on their website as a pdf.

In 2024, LGBTQ-RAN held their second annual virtual GALA. My deliverables included the intern video, a 100th celebration video and a memorial video all of which were shown at the GALA as well as a program for the GALA sent out in advance for registered attendees and put online.

This recording of the virtual GALA begins at the 100th birthday honoring of Bishop Robert Clement.
